Los Angeles- a city of beauty, style and glamour
Los Angeles, the largest city in California and the second largest in US, is a world city. People come from all over the world and have settled here, speaking more than a hundred languages. It is an important center of culture and technology as well as international trade. The city is also home to a number of prestigious universities, such as University of California, Los Angeles, California State University, Los Angeles and California State University, Northridge.
Los Angeles has a lot to offer to tourists coming here from all over United States and world. It has amusement parks, museums, art galleries, malls and shopping centers, lots of eateries, a vibrant nightlife and scores of other outdoor activities. The museum at the Getty Center with original architecture and lofty skylights has a multitude of art and sculpture exhibits from America and Europe. There are some fascinating planetarium shows and exhibits in the Griffith Observatory, an important landmark in the city. The Los Angeles County Museum of Art is a world-renowned art museum.

Los Angeles has a lot to offer to those interested in having a different kind of shopping and dining experience. Olvera Street, a cobblestone street has scores of stores selling traditional clothing and accessories, leather goods, artifacts, and a number of restaurants. It also has a Visitor Center where tourists get to see a film about early life in Los Angeles. Rodeo Drive is full of small shops and the street during Christmas’ evenings when the street is decorated with lights and flowers is a sight worth watching. Sunset Boulevard is another famous street, which is famous for its fun drive and sunset strip on the way.

The city has some great monuments, the prominent of which is Watts Towers. It is a monument constructed from scrap metal, bed frames, pipe structures and sea-shells. Echo Park, Shrine Auditorium, Walt Disney Concert Hall, Hollywood Sign, Grauman’s Chinese Theater, Hollywood Bowl, Staples Center, Central Library are a few of the important landmarks in the city, which are worth visiting by tourists. Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum is a large outdoor sports complex, which is a favorite tourist destination. Hollywood Boulevard has some fascinating tourist attractions.
Chinatown, Korea town and Little Tokyo signify the diversity of the population living in the Los Angeles area. The city also has beautiful beaches like Venice beach, Santa Monica beach, etc offering many water sport activities like skateboarding, rollerblading, and surfing and is a great place for parties, sunbathing, swimming and barefoot walking for visitors.
A well connected city
Los Angeles has an excellent road, rail and air network. The city has an extensive network of bus lines, subways and light rail system. Los Angeles International Airport is the main commercial airport, out of the six that the city has, in addition to a number of general aviation airports. It is the third busiest airport in the US, and the fifth busiest in the world. The Long Beach Harbor, consisting of Port of Los Angeles and Port of Long Beach, is the biggest seaport complex in the US.
